Natalie I joined ONE55 in November 2010. I had my first child a year earlier and decided it was time to not only get in shape but to get the best shape I had ever been in. After a few months of trying to do it on my own unsuccessfully, I signed up with my personal trainer Catherine in March 2011. At my first assessment I weighed 72.6kgs and now 16 weeks later I weight 63.4 kgs, I have lost 9.2kgs and 24cms to be exact! I never could have achieved this without Catherine’s help. She not only pushes me to my limits and do things I would never do on my own. She also offers great advice on eating and since training with her it has become a habit of mine to think before I eat something and think about the consequences it has not only to my weight but my health. I really enjoy my sessions with Catherine and the results they achieve. I feel fantastic and am looking forward to getting my goal weight of 60kgs and having a body I am proud of and feeling fit and healthy. Thanks Catherine!

Cardio Training
One of the major benefits of joining a gym is gaining access to the knowledge of professionals, who can guide you on your path to a healthier body. Here are just a few tips to help you with your training goals.
If you want to burn calories, lower stress, strengthen your heart and lungs and release endorphins, then you should focus on cardio exercises. Cardio is gym jargon for cardiovascular exercise.
In order to do cardio exercise safely nd effectively, there are two golden rules that can not be neglected:
- Warm Up: Prepare your joints, tendons and muscles for a workout by stretching and moving enough to increase your heart rate and circulation
- Cool Down: After an intense cardio session, don't just stop. Bring it down until you can take deep purposeful breaths. Gradually ease the intensity of your exercise over 5 - 10 minutes to allow your heart rate and blood circulation to decrease safely
